OnTarget Check Writing

Check Writing OnTarget includes a complete check writing system to support both Accounts Payable and Payroll. Unlike most of our competition, we print the complete check using a special magnetic toner (which is available through us or your own toner supplier). With most competing products, you are forced to buy pre-printed checks that have the company name, address and bank routing and account numbers already printed on them. These checks usually cost twice as much per check to buy as the cost of the blank check stock and MICR toner that you use with our system. With pre-printed checks there are several issues like: security issues (a blank check is stolen and the signature forged), cost per check, you change bank accounts, banks, or addresses and have to shred (remember the security issue) and throw away boxes of preprinted checks that are now useless, or someone forgets to re-order checks and payroll is due, but you have to wait 1 to 2 weeks for new checks to be printed and delivered. OnTarget check writing solves these issues. There are no blank checks to steal and forge because there are only blank pieces of paper until you print the check. Including the cost of the MICR toner a check costs less than five cents. If you Change banks or account numbers or addresses, you simply change the info in the OnTarget check writing system and you have no wasted checks. Finally, even if you forget to order blank check stock we can overnight you new check stock so you only lose one day. You can set up different checking accounts for payroll and accounts payable, or use the same checking account for both.

Check Writing Defaults Maintenance This function allows you to define which checking account is used for A/P checks and which is used to print Payroll checks.

Laser Checks Company Maintenance This function allows you to enter the data that prints on your laser check and how it prints. You enter company Name and address information as well as the bank routing and account number. You decide if the Payee's address information is printed on the check or not. You set the alignment of the MICR line on the bottom of the check for the printer that you are using. You can change the check numbers that print. Finally, you can choose whether you have a preprinted signature (strongly discouraged by us), or one or two signature lines.

Laser Checks Logo Maintenance This function allows you to select the image file used to print the signature on a check. You also use this to enter bank routing information.

Print Blank Laser Checks This function allows you to print a blank laser check for those rare occasions when you send someone to purchase something without knowing the final amount of the check.

Create Check Records for handwritten checks This function allows our customers that have those pre-printed checks and are switching over to OnTarget, to use them rather than throwing them away. They enter the check number range of the old checks they still have and handwrite them until they are gone and then start printing laser checks using our software.
